Avorion’s Beta Branch Brings New Changes and Improvements

The beta branch of Avorion has recently been updated with several new changes and improvements. These updates are designed for testing experimental changes and finding and fixing errors. To access the beta branch, players can right-click on Avorion in their Steam list, go to Properties, select Betas, and choose the ‘Beta Branch – Newest Changes & Experimental Features’ branch. Some of the specific changes include new secondary colors for armor and hull blocks with alternate patterns that now have the same brightness as the primary color. Players can now build armor blocks without a camo pattern by choosing the same color for the primary and secondary color. To match the default primary color, players can look for colors named ‘Iron Ore’, ‘Titanium Ore’, etc. Modding has also been improved, with armor blocks now using separate texture files that can be modded independently of hull blocks. Texture mods still need to be updated, however. Another change is that armor blocks of different materials no longer share the same mask UI. Disabled mouse over sounds for empty places in the color window (build mode) have also been fixed, as well as an issue with the camera speedup not working for some directions. The camera controls have now been made independent of the current steering mode.
