Icarus Introduces ‘C0NT4CT Radio’ for Enhanced Gameplay During Holiday Period

In the midst of the holiday season, the developers of Icarus have announced a series of updates that will keep the game fresh and engaging despite many staff members being on vacation. While these updates may be smaller than usual and lack the typical extensive bug fixes, weekly patches are still planned to ensure continuous improvements. This week’s highlight is the introduction of the ‘C0NT4CT Radio,’ a new feature designed to significantly enhance the quality of life for players by allowing them to launch SMPL3 missions and Operations remotely. This innovation eliminates the need for players to return to base between different steps in narrative quest lines, streamlining the gameplay experience.

The ‘C0NT4CT Radio’ can be unlocked and crafted at the fabricator. Once activated, it establishes a link with the nearest C0NT4CT device, enabling players to initiate missions while on the go. This feature is particularly beneficial for those who enjoy completing multiple missions in succession without the interruption of returning to base between each one. The developers hope that this addition will be well-received by the community as a significant improvement.

In addition to the ‘C0NT4CT Radio,’ players can get a sneak peek at the next batch of Olympus Operations, scheduled for release next week. These new operations will complete the Olympus Operations project, ensuring all applicable missions are converted and available for players to enjoy. This update is part of the ongoing efforts to enhance the game’s content and provide a richer experience for its dedicated player base.

Despite the holiday period, the development team has also addressed a known issue where clients are unable to fire weapons when connecting to a friend’s hosted server or a dedicated server. This problem seems to affect older prospects with existing weapons but not new ones crafted during the session. A potential fix has been implemented on the Experimental Branch, though it is important to note that this build includes some content slated for future releases and has not been fully tested due to the holiday break.
