Capcom has announced that Resident Evil Re:Verse, a multiplayer spin-off of the beloved horror franchise, will be shutting down this June after less than three years on the market. Despite saying that the game had exceeded expectations and served its celebratory purpose admirably, Capcom feels that it is no longer needed as it has reached a new turning point for the series. Resident Evil Re:Verse and all its downloadable content will be removed from sale on March 3, but those with the game already downloaded will be able to access it until June 29. The game will go down on all platforms, including PlayStation 4 and 5, Xbox One and Series X and S, and Steam. IGN reported that Resident Evil Re:Verse made little impact when it arrived in October 2022, earning just a 5/10 in their review. The game was developed in celebration of the 25th anniversary of the Resident Evil series, and Capcom is grateful for the support received from fans. No refunds for the game itself or its DLC were mentioned.
