System Era announces the latest February patch for ASTRONEER, bringing a host of bug fixes, quality‑of‑life improvements, and new features. The update is now live on all supported platforms, with additional work already underway for the March patch.
Highlights
- The February patch is now available.
- Work on the March patch has begun, targeting both recent and long‑standing (legacy) issues.
- Planned quality‑of‑life improvements will be rolled out over the coming months, guided by community feedback.
- All Megatech patches released since the Megatech launch will be bundled for the Switch port later this month (with a slightly later release for Asia).
- The Switch launch will include every fix applied to the game since the Megatech release, promising a smoother launch experience.
- A new Discord channel (#bug‑investigations) has been created to gather more information on high‑profile bugs.
- Bug Number 1337 (DLS launch lock‑up) and Bug Number 1335 (save‑file corruption on Xbox/PC) are being tracked.
- Players can consult the Megatech Troubleshooting Report, the Megatech Live Bug Tracker, and support@systemera.net for additional help.
New Features
- Eligibility for the Museum’s Display Case collection expanded - any mineral researchable per planet now counts toward the Medium Research Item collection.
- Locking functionality added to the Museum’s Display Case Platforms.
- Musical Mushroom received sound, color, and interaction tweaks, plus activation via target pins.
- Biodome visuals updated - wilted plants now have refreshed visuals; fully grown plants gain a pulsating effect.
- Additional polish to Megatech art assets, including:
- Power‑visualization for megastructures
- Added missing collision where it was absent
- Animation improvements and other visual enhancements
- Multiplayer experience improvements for Construction Anchors.
- Minor UI/UX adjustments:
- Fixed missing tooltip text for the Construction Anchor’s deployment button.
- Fixed inability to exit a Construction Anchor’s control panel via the Escape key.
- Fixed interference with resources while printing on a Mega‑Printer Platform.
Bug Fixes
Megastructures DLS
- Fixed issue that could prevent printing a Construction Anchor Landing Pad when resources were slotted in the output slots.
- Fixed issue where slotting an Orbital Platform package into the launch tube, exiting, and re‑entering showed the launch tube status light as green instead of blue.
Intermodal Terminal
- Fixed issue where integrated fuel canisters were not removed after destroying the terminal; leftover canisters can now be removed with Dynamite.
- Fixed duplication bug for shuttles in multiplayer games.
- Fixed issue where client players on dedicated servers could not interact with the Intermodal Terminal as intended.
- Fixed issue causing shuttles to lose launch functionality after placement, entry/exit, and removal.
Orbital Platform
- Fixed plants placed on Orbital Platform Mega‑Terrain that could not be dug up and persisted after module removal.
- Fixed issue where saving and exiting mid‑flight on a stage 3 Orbital Platform disabled flight on reload.
- Fixed issue where partially grown plants teleported away when dug up.
- Fixed floor gap that allowed players to fall through.
- Fixed issue where increased flight speed in Creative Mode did not affect stage 3 Orbital Platform flight.
- Fixed issue where too many teleported items could become stuck in the air and burst in multiple directions when retrieved.
Biodome
- Fixed issue where Nubcap plants did not drop Mega Seeds when harvested.
- Fixed issue where the Auto Harvester placed harvested items in a fixed space in the air within Biodome Expansions.
Museum
- Fixed issue preventing Display Case Platforms from being repackaged.
Construction Anchors
- Fixed missing tooltip text for the deployment button.
- Fixed inability to exit the control panel via the Escape key.
- Fixed resource‑interference issue while printing on a Mega‑Printer Platform.
- Implemented several multiplayer experience improvements related to Construction Anchors.
Miscellaneous
- Corrected storage capacity of pre‑existing Large Fluid & Soil Canisters and Large Gas Canisters to match new increased values (Hotfix 3). Reloading the save may be required to display correctly.
- Fixed gravity issues for items in the Sun Room and the Unidentified Satellite.
- Fixed brief visibility of a partially loaded world when loading or saving.
- Fixed Glitchwalkers icon appearing next to all save files on dedicated servers.
- Fixed players being kicked from dedicated servers when claiming a mission reward without owning the Glitchwalkers DLC.
- Fixed failure to show Megatech DLC ownership on the starting Main Menu’s right‑side panel for Xbox and the Xbox PC App.
- Fixed bug where storing Conepod seeds returned them as Nubcap seeds when withdrawn.
- Fixed animation and sound effects for unpackaging a Construction Anchor.
- Fixed typo in the unlock description for the Haywire mask cosmetic.
- Fixed additional game crash instances.
