Brigand: Oaxaca Announces Major Update with New DLC and Achievements
October 05, 2025 - Independent game developer The Wavelength is thrilled to announce a significant update for their critically acclaimed post-apocalyptic RPG/FPS, Brigand: Oaxaca. This latest update introduces the highly anticipated New BATTLES DLC challenge map, along with the 77th and final achievement for the game.
The new content, titled Texas Whiteout, challenges players to defend an ITIC research station during a preternatural blizzard in Texas over three grueling nights. Utilizing daylight hours to scavenge for supplies and make crucial preparations will be essential for survival in this intense new scenario.
In addition to the new DLC, this update brings a host of improvements and bug fixes:
- Enhanced voice sounds for Chupacabras and Shiver Demons
- Chupacabras now possess the Jump Attack ability, increasing the difficulty of the NIGHTMARE mode
- Improved visual representation of poison gas with a new 2D sprite
- Added extra dialogue if Cribbers survive the Beneath the Ruins map
- The Meatiator Minigun now has a 3% chance to irradiate its wielder while in use
- Two new original tracks by Sonic Kitchen/Zeph have been added for the BATTLES DLC
- A new Steam achievement, Texas Whiteout, has been introduced for completing the final BATTLES map
- Bug fixes include:
- Resolved an issue where closed bear traps appeared open on certain maps
- Fixed a launcher bug that reset game speed in Editor Mode
- Addressed a rare crash when the player died from environmental damage in map scripts
- Corrected a bug with initial Scawuen faction respect in BATTLES following a recent patch
- Fixed an issue where closed bear traps appeared open on the Panama Farms map in BATTLES
