Brutal Orchestra Expands with New Content and Fixes on January 23, 2026

BRUTAL ORCHESTRA - Brutal Orchestra, the critically acclaimed Turn-Based Roguelike Strategy Game, continues to evolve with a significant update arriving on January 23, 2026. The update, titled “New Release,” introduces a wealth of new content, from new party members to improved gameplay mechanics and a suite of bug fixes.

Set in Purgatory with no escape in sight, players must make a deal with the demon Bosch to embark on a quest for petty revenge. The latest update enriches this already dark and comedic experience with a plethora of additions across its unique locations.

For those brave enough to tackle the Hard Mode, Brutal Orchestra adds new party member Shelly K. to The Far Shore. The Garden location welcomes a new ally, Formosus, a real-life Catholic Pope, along with new foes including the Prodigal Foundlings and Derelict Foundlings. Additionally, a mysterious stranger named C.M. Kösemen, a cryptozoologist, has been added to the game.

The Far Shore and The Garden now feature new and improved items and abilities. A new 'The Bar' location has been added to The Far Shore in Hard Mode, complete with its own seat for modded NPCs. Players can discover new passive effects like Anointed and Theophobia, along with treasure items such as the Sacred Shrub and Arachnid Aphrodisiac. The shop has been updated with new items including the Gift Box!, Burn-Bottle Batch, and the Wailing Whistle.

Combat and character abilities have been fine-tuned in this update. Party member Pearl now has a reworked 'Digestion' ability that allows her to eat enemies alive to heal. Clive's 'Contusion' ability requires more specific pigments at higher levels, while other characters like Dimitri, Splig, Smokestacks, Kleiver, and Gospel have received adjustments to their abilities, including cost and requirements. New visual effects, such as improved field effects for 'Constricted' and Fire, add to the visual impact of battles.

Further enhancements include the addition of a new 'Foundling Theme' music track, unlockable save file icons for Shelly K. and Formosus, and a default English font change to Talia's custom 'Sword Extended'. Modding support has also been bolstered with new variables and options for custom dialogue and commands, as well as an unused Bile passive effect for modders.

Several bugs have been addressed to improve the overall experience. These include fixing attack animations, Smokestacks' abilities, and damage explanations in the Spanish localization. The Sepulchre's appearance has also been tweaked to occur only on odd numbered days.
