Don't Starve Together Announces Major Update with New Features and Content
September 18, 2025 - The critically acclaimed survival game Don't Starve Together has announced a significant update titled 'Ancient Echoes,' introducing a wealth of new features and content for players to enjoy. This standalone multiplayer expansion builds on the foundation of the original game, offering an even more immersive experience filled with challenges, exploration, and teamwork.
Players can now dive into the newly added Fumarole area, where they will encounter the old companion of the Ancients during Shadow Rift events. Additionally, a Giant Whirlpool has been introduced, which pulls objects down and requires Caves to be enabled for its full effect. The update also includes hidden rooms in Caves filled with Ancient lore, providing new layers of mystery and discovery.
To enhance gameplay, several features have been tweaked or added. Woodie’s Wooden Walking Stick no longer consumes durability when the wearer is not moving, making it more practical for long journeys. Birds now emit death sounds, adding a layer of realism to the game's environment. Furthermore, bird sounds have been removed from turf ambience during the Post-Lunar Hail period, creating a more dynamic and immersive atmosphere.
Bridges can now be placed in the Labyrinth Maze, offering players new strategic options for navigating this challenging area. Additionally, bugs related to bird sounds disappearing during the Post-Lunar Hail period have been addressed, ensuring a smoother experience for all players.
To celebrate the release of 'Ancient Echoes,' Don't Starve Together is offering exclusive in-game rewards. Players can claim login bonuses such as the Mythic Bone Armor, available for a limited time. New streaming drops include the Global Deconstruction Staff skin, adding to the variety of cosmetic options available to players. Ambassadors have also been equipped with new codes to distribute, including the Resurrected Glom Pack and Resurrected Deerclops Duffel.
The update introduces two new skins: the Swampy Vacation Chest and the Complete Survivor Chest, further enriching the game's visual landscape. These additions provide players with fresh ways to customize their experience and stand out in multiplayer modes.
