Dune: Awakening Fixes - Hotfix Improves Durability, Balance, and Bug Fixes
Date: February 12, 2026
Dune: Awakening is an Open World Survival RPG that lets players fully immerse themselves in the epic world of Dune. Whether exploring Arrakis alone or with friends, players can survive sandworms, build homes, craft ornithopters, and investigate the mystery of the missing Fremen.
Hotfix Summary
A client‑side hotfix download is required. If the download does not start automatically, restart Steam.
Durability System Overhaul
- Death durability penalty reduced from 5 % to 2 %.
- Use‑durability drain halved (‑50 %); tools, weapons, powerpacks, suspensor belts, and similar items now last twice as long.
- Repair wear reduced - maximum durability loss from repairs lowered from 20 % to 15 %.
Combat Balance Updates
- Baseline Plastanium‑tier enemies (new Overland map locations & Testing Stations) are weaker - they deal less damage, cause less shield damage, and scale health more slowly at higher dungeon difficulties.
- Dungeon difficulty UI scaling adjusted to match the new enemy stats.
- Chapter 3 dungeons now start at difficulties 1‑3 only; difficulties 4‑5 unlock after clearing the first three levels.
Drillshot & NPC Weapon Rebalance
- Longer interval between NPC Drillshot shots, preventing two‑dart bursts that could instantly down a player.
- Reduced damage from NPC Drillshot when it penetrates shields.
- Shield‑damage from NPC LMGs and Disruptors reduced, softening the difficulty spike while keeping them threatening.
New Features
- Automatic reimbursement of Scrips written off for Contraband Armor Variants but never granted (handled by Hotfix 1.3.0.4).
- New unlocking progression for Chapter 3 dungeon difficulties - players must clear difficulties 1‑3 before accessing difficulty 4.
Bug Fixes
Technical & Stability
- Fixed edge‑case where the Q52 error could still occur when traveling to a password‑protected Sietch on private servers.
- Fixed edge‑case triggers of the X72 error during Character Transfer.
Combat
- Fixed Attractor Field bug that prevented players from firing weapons; after the fix (and the prior Hotfix 1.3.0.4), both players and NPCs can fire normally while under the field.
- Fixed heavy‑dart weapons and certain other effects bypassing the low‑health mitigation system; these attacks now respect low‑health damage reduction.
Resources, Building, & Crafting
- Fixed the missing Scrip reimbursement for Contraband Armor Variants (now automatically credited).
