Empyrion - Galactic Survival receives its first major 2026 update - Version 1.15
Empyrion - Galactic Survival, the true space‑sandbox survival adventure, rolls out Update 1.15, the first large‑scale update of the year. The update focuses on extensive refactoring and convenience improvements rather than new storyline missions, delivering a smoother and more polished experience across both ground and space playfields.
Key Highlights
- Large‑scale refactoring: About two‑thirds of the game’s playfields have been re‑worked, adding missing drones, drone‑bases, points of interest (POIs), and additional activity for both planetary and orbital environments.
- Default Random EXP scenario: A new public testing scenario that lets players try upcoming content without affecting existing saves. Access it from the main menu (Main menu > Singleplayer > Start Game > Scenarios > Default Random EXP) without switching Steam branches.
- 14 Jumpgates: New jumpgate locations have been placed throughout the galaxy, visible in the Personal Inbox of the Personal Communication Console.
- Personal Communication Console (PCC): A craftable device that provides access to the Galactic Information Network and a personal inbox for jumpgate data and future services.
New Gameplay Features
- Short Range Warp (SRW): Free to all warp drives. Align the ship, accelerate to 30 m/s and press K for short‑range jumps inside an orbit or sector. No unlock required.
- Jumpgate System: Prefab entries added to
blocksconfigfor creators, enabling vessels to jump to predefined destinations. Jumpgates cannot be built by players in survival mode. - Colorable Asteroid Fog: Creators can now set fog colour via
EClassConfigsettings. - Non‑Fog Asteroid Field Variants & Fog‑Only Playfields: New variants allow designers to create asteroid fields without fog or playfields that contain only fog for orbital use.
- Pirate Treasure POIs: New treasure beacons placed on the Snow playfield and secondary planets of the “Frontline Alpha” system.
- New Terrain Stamp Variants:
Mtn_MonumentGroup_INV,Canyon_80m_Connect_HI, andCanyon_80m_Diagonal_HIadded. - WIP Playfields:
AncientQuarry(planet) andStory_AncientQuarry(orbit) in the “Quarry” system, plus placeholder POIs for the orbit version. - WIP Star Region "Unclaimed Space": A new region north of the galaxy with no faction presence (temporary).
- Galaxy Config Tweaks: Talon spawn chances dramatically increased outside faction territories.
- Contact Point Alpha Start Options: New start location featuring a base attack from the Epsilon faction and terrain‑stamp variants.
Bug Fixes & Technical Improvements
- Shield Extenders now drain power only when the shield is active.
- Added missing localisation entry for the Gravity Generator checkbox.
- Corrected Yara (TheLegacy) sector coordinates in the default multiplayer scenario.
- Fixed Short Range Warp configuration issues across relevant scenarios.
- Turret AI delay issue resolved; turrets now switch targets with proper timing.
- Enemy turret firing bugs fixed - turrets fire consistently even when players fly close to structures.
- Player‑on‑hoverbike protection fixed - players are no longer attacked while riding a hoverbike.
- Trading Hub (BAO) airtightness fixed - the hub now seals correctly.
- General exploits and several unspecified bugs addressed.
- Added missing drones, drone‑bases, and POIs to numerous ground playfields.
- Added missing orbital patrol vessels (OPVs) to space playfields and adjusted OPV self‑destruct logic for non‑militaristic factions.
- Added missing Talon POI on the Snow playfield and ensured Talon can be harassed by other factions.
- Optimised POI spawning density and placement across factions, fixing earlier configuration errors.
- Dialogue issues in the Default Random EXP scenario have been corrected.
How to Access the New Content
All fixes and technical features apply to any scenario. To test the new content, select the Default Random EXP scenario from the main menu (Main menu > Singleplayer > Start Game > Scenarios > Default Random EXP). No Steam branch switch is required.
