GONE Fishing Update Brings New Features, Bug Fixes, and Popular Demands

September 12, 2025 - GONE Fishing, the co-op multiplayer survival horror game where players must fish to survive, has released a major update addressing player feedback and enhancing gameplay. The update includes several new features, critical bug fixes, and the re-addition of a beloved character.

New Features:

  • Added 6 new Steam Achievements: Catching a 10000lb fish, Catching a puffer fish, Catching a walking goblin shark, Gambling a fish, Catching Nessie, and Getting a max win.
  • Increased proximity chat range by 25%, making communication easier during tense moments.
  • Re-added the OG Character in response to popular demand.
  • Added an additional TNT spawn on the Lake map for more strategic opportunities.

Bug Fixes:

  • Critical bug causing upgrades to reset for both client and host has been fixed, resolving issues when players clicked on unaffordable or max-level upgrades.
  • Depth Finder reworked to be less CPU intensive, addressing issues where some clients couldn't use it effectively.
  • Beer chugging sound issue resolved; the sound no longer plays when beer is put away or dropped, and may also fix issues where some clients couldn't drink it.
  • Cave creatures getting stuck near the bottom of the ramp have been fixed.
  • Game ending on first-time quota not met regardless of difficulty has been addressed.
  • Players unable to create a lobby without selecting a map issue resolved.
