Icarus New Release - Free Content Update

Date: February 13, 2026

ICARUS, the solo or multiplayer PvE survival game set in a savage wilderness after a failed terraforming project, receives a major content push. Players can now explore, build, craft, hunt, and complete narrative quests in both Open World operations and Individual Missions while prospecting for exotic matter.

Key Highlights

  • New Workshop Sickles added to the Orbital Workshop, bringing specialised harvesting effects previously exclusive to Super‑Cooled Ice, Miasma and Obsidian tools on the Prometheus map.
  • Upcoming free Mendel Update - every tamed animal and mount will gain a unique genotype, phenotype, lineage, and sex, plus the ability to breed farm animals and select mounts.
  • Quality‑of‑life improvements:
    • On‑screen delete (X) button for the food‑modifiers widget, exposing the hidden right‑click cancel option.
    • Updated character‑riding animations (correct position, orientation and scale).
    • Loot‑retrieval button in the escape menu now works on mount corpses.

New Features

Workshop Sickles (research cost: 250 stabilised exotics; craft cost: 100 stabilised exotics + 200 ren):

  • Inaris “Icy” Sickle - 33‑35 melee damage, 50 frost damage; inflicts Freeze for 10 s; harvested plants have a 30 % chance to gain the Chilled alteration (lasting 100 % longer).
  • Inaris “Scorch” Sickle - 33‑35 melee damage, 50 fire damage; inflicts Burning for 10 s; harvested crops have a 25 % chance to be instantly cooked.
  • Inaris “Thorn” Sickle - 42‑45 melee damage, 50 poison damage; inflicts Miasma for 10 s; harvested plants gain the Thorned alteration (lasting 50 % longer).

  • AI/Controller changes: OnPerceivedX events moved to IcarusNPCController; SpitAttack can specify tags for noise events; drones stop firing after their target dies.
