MakeRoom Updates: Enhanced Features and Steam Deck Compatibility

September 29, 2025 - Today, the popular room design game MakeRoom announced a series of updates aimed at enhancing user experience and expanding creative possibilities. The update includes Steam Deck verification, photography mode improvements, new items, additional features, bug fixes, and more.

MakeRoom allows players to build rooms, gardens, and camper vans using over 1,100 objects or create custom furniture. Additionally, players can visit MakeRoom Island for unique design inspiration. The game's latest updates ensure compatibility with Steam Deck, as it has been verified by Steam after minor adjustments. This means the game runs smoothly on the device.

Photography mode has undergone significant improvements, including a revamped menu with clearer labels and new color filters offering a hand-painted effect for scenes. Players will also find two new gamepads and several planks in custom mode, ideal for crafting chairs. Other features include 5 new music tracks, unique names for all photography mode color filters, an updated logo for photographs, increased wallpaper thumbnail contrast, rearranged buttons, replaced toggles with checkboxes in photography mode, faster rendering and saving of photographs (about 50% improvement), and outline thickness that scales with photo size.
