Monster Train returns with all new clans, new enemy factions, new challenges, new modes and more! Defend your Pyre in the classic three‑tiered, vertical gameplay that made the original roguelike deck‑builder a hit.

Highlights

  • Soul Savior Win‑Streak Tracking - a separate streak for each difficulty level.
  • Soul Savior Stat Tracking - a dedicated Logbook section showing your best Soul Savior stats.
  • Soul randomisation now works like clan randomisation: you can’t see the randomised souls until the run starts and the choice is kept across runs.
  • Detach souls directly from the Soul list in the HUD.
  • Soul attaching and detaching is now allowed in most areas (except during battle), including the merchant screen.
  • Added a new “Consume” ability (Railforged).
  • Magnetic Relay description changed to “Return a non‑champion friendly unit…”.
  • Pyre Steward overhaul - removed “Pyre Repair”, added “Slay: Restore 2 Pyre Health”, and swapped stats from 10 ATK/30 HP to 30 ATK/10 HP.
  • Forge buffs now apply when playing Penitent’s Bloodsuit or Penitent’s Deathsuit on player units.
  • Missing Forge and Smelt tooltips added to several Railforged artifacts.
  • Boiler‑plate entries removed from the Red Crown and Grafted‑Equipment event pools.
  • Fleshweaver enemy compositions updated - the hardest variants are now slightly easier.
  • Scrivener “Spellweave” ability now targets only non‑starter cards.

Bug Fixes

  • Showtime now only boosts unit stats at combat end (outside Deployment Phase).
  • Correct Gorgon soul bonus scaling on Hammerfall.
  • Prevent soul duplication from rapid UI inputs.
  • Mimic soul no longer appears as a draft reward when it should be excluded.
  • Fixed Stackstone/Entropic Stone merchant filtering when Mollis Soul is present.
  • Soul upgrades no longer block normal merchant upgrades.
  • Draft‑reward souls are correctly skipped on the next reroll when enough unlocked souls exist.
  • Champion upgrade bug: fourth upgrade after fully upgrading a path now offers proper options.
  • Spelling fix for “Slacy” on cards.
  • Metamind soul now displays correct bonus text (no double‑text).
  • Athane the Fallen now incants Rage (instead of Infested) and retreats on Strike.
  • Lifemother stats now scale with difficulty on the battle‑intro screen.
  • Soul Savior ‘Sadist’ mutator no longer adds extra Witherbloom when Troop stacks are added.
  • Herzal perma‑forge upgrade tiers 2‑3 now persist attack increases across battles.
  • Heph’s Weaponsmith buffs no longer apply to enemies when equipped.
  • Burst now decrements only after all Multistrike attacks have finished.
  • Car Collapse cost reduced from 2 to 0.
  • Magnetic Relay now returns grafted equipment on non‑original grafted units.
  • Heph’s hand no longer overlaps the Hammer handle.
  • Herzal’s Blacksmith champion path text colour fixed in Logbook.
  • Herzal’s Hammer tooltip no longer incorrectly shows Titanskin.
  • Visual glitches with the unit‑limit indicator (7‑unit rooms) fixed.
  • Camera motion smoothed when a boss dies while entering Relentless by the Sentry Turret.
  • Undo action can no longer be abused to play cards before artifact triggers.
  • Endless now correctly restores grafted equipment to revived unit cards.
  • Abyssal Prism now grants proper card‑draw bonuses for the Beelziebub soul.
  • Pyreborne’s Insignia no longer affected by Dualism.
  • Dusk Mantle no longer grants extra Titanskin when the unit is silenced or muted (also fixes Full‑Moon/New‑Moon trigger issues).
  • Vanguard units retain bonuses when silenced/muted at the front of a room.
  • Wurmkin map banner positioned correctly.
  • Error‑message wording improved for invalid unit/room plays in Pyre rooms.
  • Dazed, Suppressed and Inert status effects no longer block “Attack Immediately” abilities.
  • Scrivener Spellweave now targets only non‑starter cards.
  • Rootseed attack value updated (2 → 3).
  • Fuel tooltip no longer mentions the test mechanic “Dormant”.
  • ‘Forgone Power’ no longer tries to discard persistent cards such as Scrap Metal.
