Omelet You Cook Update Brings New Spicy Features and Bug Fixes
September 12, 2025 - The beloved cozy chaotic cooking roguelike, Omelet You Cook, has just released a new update titled 'Spicy Hot Fire Update,' introducing a host of exciting features and essential bug fixes. Players will now have the chance to experiment with fiery new ingredients and face off against pyromaniac customers in this latest iteration.
The update introduces 5 new spicy ingredients and 3 non-spicy ones, each bringing unique effects to the game. Spicy ingredients come with the 'On Fire' effect, which grants players +3 points but risks burning and becoming 'Burnt,' resulting in a -10 point penalty. To counteract this, players can now shake their omelets to extinguish flames, adding an extra layer of strategy to the cooking process.
New Pyromaniac customers have also been added, who will toss lit matches onto omelets, further intensifying the game's chaotic nature. Additionally, a brand new Spicy starter pantry and a Spicy crate available in the shop provide players with fresh starting points and new ways to customize their gameplay.
Quality of life adjustments include ingredient rotation no longer being dependent on framerate, ensuring smoother gameplay for all players. The update also introduces Mold, Gold, On Fire, and Burnt tooltips with explanations, as well as a 'Continue' button delay in the shop for better user experience. Furthermore, new tutorial popups for Spicy, Underlapper, and Garnish ingredients guide players through these new mechanics effectively.
Bug fixes include resolving an issue where Helpers didn't earn money when they should, correcting offscreen tooltips for ingredients in the bottom row of the pantry, updating tutorial text from 'Sir Peck-a-Lot' to 'Sir Pecks-a-Lot,' and fixing UI instances that incorrectly displayed 'Relic' instead of 'Helper.'
