Experience the thrill of space exploration with Reentry - A Space Flight Simulator

Do you have what it takes to be an astronaut? Reentry is a realistic space flight simulator based on NASA's space programs; from the first American human spaceflight in Project Mercury, the rendezvous and EVAs of Project Gemini to the Moon landing in Project Apollo.

Highlights:

  • Improved Mercury autopilot fuel efficiency
  • Updated rendering and lighting systems
  • Added new Plume Renderer for Mercury and Gemini
  • Enhanced Mercury cockpit with improved indicator lights, gauges, and interactable components
  • Resolved reported issues including Earth Atmosphere shader NaN errors, Astronaut Hider bugs, and P01 alignment issues during time scaling

New Features:

  • Plume Renderer added to Mercury and Gemini for dynamic plumes
  • Improved Mercury cockpit with updated indicator lights, gauges, and EPI model
  • Dynamic Cabin Audio enhancements including new sound effects for cabin depressurization/repressurization and EPI ticking noise
  • Option to toggle Bloom Effect in post-processing (planned for future updates)
  • Unity Security Patch applied

Bug fixes:

  • Corrected Mercury ASCS roll overshooting issue caused by a rate limiter problem
  • Fixed Earth Atmosphere shader NaN error causing visual artifacts and bloom system triggers
  • Resolved Astronaut Hider logic issues where astronauts were not hidden correctly when cameras were near or inside their heads
  • Addressed P01 timescale block causing alignment failures during Apollo Command Module pre-liftoff procedures
  • Fixed SSAO layer artifacts in the Mercury cockpit
  • Corrected Earth brightness and tone issues, reducing overbrightness in desert areas with clouds below
