Slay the Spire Announces New Release and Major Updates

September 11, 2025 - Today, Slay the Spire developers announced exciting updates for fans of the popular deckbuilding roguelike game. The team shared details about Slay the Spire 2's new Early Access timeline and several community-focused features.

The highly anticipated Slay the Spire 2 is now set to enter Early Access on a secret Thursday in March 2026, delayed from its original target of late 2025. This adjustment comes as the team faced personal challenges, ambitious feature additions, and a commitment to ensuring polished quality.

Among the new features revealed is the 'Alternate Acts' mechanic. Players will now encounter one of two possible acts upon starting a new run in Slay the Spire 2, each offering distinct environments, enemies, events, and bosses. For example, Act 1a could be Overgrowth, featuring a woodland theme, while Act 1b might explore Underdocks, filled with sewer and mutant creatures.

To support the growing community, developers have launched a new wiki on wiki.gg as an alternative to the existing Fandom wiki. Additionally, 'Spire Spotting' has been introduced-a monthly feature where teasers of monsters from Slay the Spire 2 are shared, encouraging community submissions and guesses.
