Talented New Release - Major Update and Beastmaster DLC

Talented New Release - Major Update and Beastmaster DLC

Date: January 31, 2026

Talented returns with a massive overhaul, new content, and a fresh DLC that expands the rogue‑lite experience. The TurtleFox Team thanks the community for supporting both Talented and Wave of Shadows, which helped fund a second DLC.

What’s Included in the Base Game

All content before the "Beastmaster's Call" header is part of the base Talented game. Players must survive 20 nights on the relentless "Demonic Conveyor Belt," slaying waves of spooky enemies while navigating a randomly generated skill tree. Choose upgrades and abilities wisely-only the truly talented will make it out alive.

New Features & Overhauls

  • Ability System Update
    • Ability Replacement - learn new abilities even when slots are full.
    • Ability Upgrades - after filling all slots, select an ability to upgrade and receive three random Upgrade Scrolls (33 scroll types at launch).
  • Mastery Expansion
    • Mastery cap raised from 30 to 35.

    • Skip post‑game results animation (Esc or B).
    • Colored damage numbers for status‑effect sources.

Beastmaster’s Call DLC (Steam)

All content after the "Beastmaster's Call" header belongs to the new DLC, available now on Steam.

  • Beastmaster Class - wield a crossbow and care for up to four pets. Each pet has a unique attack pattern, can evolve four times, and receives a Legendary Upgrade at final evolution.
  • Gauntlet Mode - a shorter‑session mode where health does not fully restore each night, offering a larger starting health pool, talent selection at night’s end, and a path to unlock Shiny Challenge Skins.
  • Training Grounds - new area set in the Beastmaster’s facility (egg incubation, playtime, nap time, combat).
  • New Challenges - six challenges unlock at Mastery 5, 15, and 25, including Unhatched (defend pet eggs) and the Glazemite boss (face a corrupted pet). Completing these grants new skins and the [Glazemite’s Feast] Legendary Talent.
  • Additional balance tweaks for wave mode (enemy health multiplier after Wave 50 reduced from 2.0× to 1.5×).
