Winter Survival Receives First Major Patch Post-Update
    September 25, 2025
Developer Wintermute Interactive has released the first patch following the major update for their story-driven survival game Winter Survival. The update addresses player feedback and resolves several issues identified since the game's release. This patch focuses on improving performance, fixing bugs, and enhancing the overall player experience.
The update introduces a number of new features:
- Automatically Equipped Gear: Flashlight, Walkie Talkie, and Compass are now automatically equipped in Survival Scenarios and at the start of Act 2 in Story Mode.
 - Improved Graphics Performance: The Medium Graphics preset has been adjusted to exclude Nanite & Lumen, providing better performance on lower-end GPUs.
 - Bug Fixes and Quality-of-Life Updates: Includes the removal of collision from a bush near the introduction start and the addition of missing icons for various traits on item tooltips.

The patch also resolves several bug issues, including:
- Quests now correctly count items and update counters when dropping/picking up items (except in Home Survival Scenario when dismantling ruins).
 - Profile selection screen no longer asks to create a second profile to close the window.
 - Several visual bugs related to widgets have been fixed, along with optimizations for PSO Precaching, reducing CPU load by ~25%.
 - Fixed issues related to right-clicking to use items after alt-tabbing and several crash issues linked to Async Loading of data, loot generation, corrupted saves, AI tasks, and torch interactions.
